Kim Kyu Jong Chosen To Play Lead Role in "GOONG" Musical
Premiered last year which opened a new horizon for creative musical “GOONG”, acting for the 1st time TOHOSHINKI’s U-KNOW Yunho, which garnered more than 60% Japanese and other foreign audience which created a huge topic.
The so-called “GOONG” is about “A Constitutional Monarchy in the Republic of Korea” in a unique fantasy setting, an ordinary wild high school girl
The production company convey the message, “Kim Kyu Jong during SS501 days has already shown his strength in his singing ability, his outstanding choregraphy and stage demeanor. With his handsome outlooks, he can be seen as a lead”, “Kim Kyu Jong also shows his strong sincerity thus we are really looking forward to it. Shin Chae-Kyeong (acted by Kwak Sunyoung) with the nation favourite – The Crown Prince Lee Shin, lives after their political marriage.
“GOONG” will start the overseas performance wef 11 Jun 2011 till 1 Jul 2011 at Japan Kyoto (Musical theatre). The pre-ordering of tickets will be from 14 Apr onwards.

In June, leader Kim HyunJoong moved to another management company which aroused rumors of disband, the other members of SS501 will choose their own path themselves following their contract expiry with their current management company DSP.
Kim HyunJoong moved to Bae YongJoon’s company Key East, in fact the group seems to be disbanded since Park JungMin and Kim HyungJun are looking for a new company themselves too.
Park JungMin announced on 10-Aug that he has signed with CNR Media, which is a Korea and Taiwan joint venture company, Kim HyungJun has not confirmed any contract with new management company but it is known that he is preparing for his own activities.
Rather than announcing the official disband, it has been observed that SS501 members wish to keep the group. Park JungMin announced his contract with CNR Media on 10-Aug and wrote in the homepage “I will come forth with the name of ‘Park JungMin’ from ‘SS501’. Of course, I will always be ‘SS501’s JungMin’..! JungMin in SS501!”
He also wrote “Though there are many worries and nervousness, please give lots of strength to JungMin who is taking his first step now..! In the future, I will work harder and make progress.”
Earlier on, Kim HyunJoong also revealed his similar stance on this matter.
However, most analysis shows that it would be difficult to have their activities together in reality if they are with different management companies.
Meanwhile, Kim HyunJoong will be starring in MBC new Wed-Thu drama ‘Mischievous Kiss’ where he acts as a genius pretty boy who has an IQ of 200. ‘Mischievous Kiss’ will succeed ‘Road Number 1’, starting its broadcast on 1-Sep.

In future, he will be aiming to attain a firm position in asia as a multi-entertainer. Also, Jungmin will be positively and eagerly participating in any thing related to SS501 as SS501's Jungmin, and so with that, SS501 activities will be his first and foremost priority in anything". Though having said that, for now to see, the name 'SS501' belongs to DSP Media, since each member are moving into new agencies, so when they carry out work in that agency, it isn't very likely that they could use the name SS501, so it seems like only lip-service is performed...
A personnel from SS501's leader Kim HyunJoong who have moved to agency KEYEAST expressed that HyunJoong's relationship with the other members is good, and in future too, it will be possible to carry out music activities as SS501 together", he also stated their stand that Hyunjoong did not move out of/leave SS501 at all. But with Park Jungmin's situation now, it doesn't seem so likely. With that the case, in order that both of them will not be responsible for any form of rumoured 'disbandment', all such information are going through only from each's agency representatives.
